Overview
Located in Eastern North Carolina, Seymour Johnson AFB is situated in a small town that is surrounded by a multitude of things to do occupy your time. Seymour Johnson is located an hour away from Raleigh's night life and the beautiful beaches of North Carolina so no matter what you are looking for, you can most likely find it here.
Food
East Coast Wings - American Style wing joint with plenty of TVs for watching any sporting event
Ninja Grille - Japanese-American fusion restaurant that has seating but is also a great quick to-go option
Brew Masters - Great pub style food and a plethora of beers on tap. Awesome outdoor seating.
Jays American/Japanese Fusion - Awesome sit down restaurant for dinner, tons of sushi to pick from.
Empire Fire - Mongolian Style Buffet - Good food but is often packed so plan accordingly.
Bars
Morgan's - Awesome dive bar right outside the gate. Pool tables and a dance floor, can get packed on the weekends.
Shamrocks - Small Irish bar in downtown Goldsboro. Reasonably price and is an good follow on from Brew Works.
Brew Masters (Beer Only) - Tons of beer on tap, super close to base.
Brew Works (Beer Only) - Also tons of beer on tap, located in downtown Goldsboro within short walking distance of Shamrocks.
Hero's - Oyster Bar close to base, relative close proximity to Morgan's.
Mustang Tap Room - One of the hidden gems of the bar scene lies on Seymour Johnson AFB. The Mustang Tap room has super cheap drinks and is a really nice facility. They have tons of TVs and often have promotional nights for the UFC fights. The only draw back to the tap room is that it never really gets busy and is extremely under used. Really good place to be if you are trying to stay lowkey.

Activities

Goldsboro Municipal GC - Located just outside the gate, open to the public.
Lane Tree CC - Very nice course located 10 minutes from base, open to the public but tee times are usually required in advance.
Proximity to Goldsboro
Onslow Beach - (1H 10M Drive) Located on Camp Lejeune, Onslow Beach is closed to the general public, has restrooms, and a store on site.
Cliff of the Neuse - (20M Drive) The Cliffs of the Neuse is a state operated park about 20 minutes outside of Goldsboro. There are a multitude of trails to enjoy that follow the river.
